Key takeaway: TiviMate itself rarely breaks. Most TiviMate problems come from the playlist, the guide source, the network, storage or the Premium account. Match the symptom first, then fix that one cause.

TiviMate is one of the most stable IPTV players on Fire TV and Android TV, so when something goes wrong, the app is rarely the real cause. A login that expired, a guide link that changed, a weak Wi-Fi signal or a full stick explains almost every problem people report.
This guide starts with a symptom finder, so you can jump straight to your problem. Each section then explains the cause in plain English and gives the fix step by step. The steps work on Fire OS sticks, Android TV and Google TV boxes and the NVIDIA Shield; menu names can differ slightly between versions.

Fix TiviMate playlist errors
When TiviMate shows no channels or says it failed to update the playlist, the server refused or never answered. Work through these steps:
- Check the account. Ask your service whether the line is active and has not expired.
- Update the playlist. Go to Settings, Playlists, select yours and choose Update playlist.
- Check the details. Edit the playlist and compare the server URL, username and password with your welcome email, character by character.
- Prefer Xtream Codes. If you added a long M3U link, add the same subscription as Xtream Codes instead; it is easier to get right.
- Test in another player. If the login also fails in IPTV Smarters Pro or OTT Navigator, the problem is with the service. Contact them.
Server error numbers give useful clues:
| Error | Usually means |
|---|---|
| 401 | Login refused: wrong username or password |
| 403 | Expired line or too many connections |
| 404 | Old or wrong server address |
| 5xx (500, 502, 503) | A problem on the service’s side; try later |
Fix an empty or wrong guide
If the guide shows “No information”, or every programme is an hour out:
- Go to Settings, EPG and update the guide.
- With an M3U playlist, add the guide (EPG) link your service gave you and link it to the playlist.
- Check the device time zone. On Fire TV: Settings, Preferences, Time Zone.
- If every show is offset by the same amount, use the guide source’s time-shift setting.
Our IPTV guide not working guide goes deeper, including guides that load for some channels but not others.

Fix TiviMate buffering
- Test the speed on the device itself in the evening, not on your phone.
- Improve the connection. Move the router closer, use 5 GHz Wi-Fi, or best of all use Ethernet; see Fire TV Ethernet adapter.
- Increase the buffer. In TiviMate’s player settings, set a larger buffer size.
- Check one channel against many. If only one channel buffers, the problem is that channel’s source, not your setup.
For the full list, see our IPTV buffering fixes, and check your numbers against our IPTV speed requirements.
Fix a black screen or no sound
- In the player settings, switch the video decoder between hardware and software, then test again.
- For lip-sync problems, adjust the audio delay.
- For channels with several languages, open the audio track menu while watching and pick another track.
- If one channel is black but others play, test it later; the source may be down.
Fix crashes and freezing
- Restart the device by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
- Clear the cache: Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, TiviMate, Clear cache.
- Free storage by uninstalling apps you no longer use.
- Update TiviMate to the latest official version.
Keep Clear data as a last resort, because it removes your playlists and settings.
Fix Premium features that are locked
- Open Settings, Account and check you are signed in with the account you bought Premium with.
- One Premium account covers up to 5 devices. If you replaced a stick, remove the old device in the TiviMate Companion app to free a slot.
- “Unlocked” copies from random websites break with updates and are not supported. Install TiviMate from its official source.

Last resort: reinstall cleanly
- Write down your playlist and guide details, or make a backup if you have Premium.
- Uninstall TiviMate and restart the device.
- Reinstall from the official source; see TiviMate on Fire TV.
- Add your playlist again and restore the backup.
When to contact your service
Contact support if the login fails in every player, if errors start on all devices at once or if error 403 appears while nothing else is playing. Send the exact error, the time and the device. If your service keeps failing, it may be time to test another one; providers such as 8K IPTV Group offer a 24-hour free trial so you can check TiviMate with a different line before paying.

FAQ
Will clearing the cache delete my playlists?
No. Clear cache is safe. Clear data removes playlists and settings.
Why does TiviMate say “failed to update playlist”?
The server refused or did not answer: an expired line, a changed server address, a typo in the login or a temporary outage.
Does TiviMate work on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select?
No. It runs Vega OS, which cannot install TiviMate.
Can a VPN stop TiviMate working?
Yes, if the service blocks VPN servers. Change server, or exclude TiviMate with split tunnelling in the VPN app.
Why is my guide one hour out?
The device time zone or the guide’s time shift is wrong. Fix the time zone first, then adjust the time shift if needed.
